Arts Course Selection for April 25 – June 10

The WISDOM Roadshow Teacher: Ibu Sarita Description: Students who have already been a part of the Middle School production have the opportunity to work on a “traveling” version of the show which we will perform for the greater community, at the Sustainable Solutions event and also film and record. Location/Room: Drama room Max Students: No max, pre-requisite is they had to have been in the production. The Rockinest Band in the History of the World Teacher: Pak Adam/Paul Brief Description: Students will complete a music unit involving ensemble-based songwriting, composition and performance across different music genres. Location/Room: Music Room/Sangkep Max Students: 10

Caricature Drawing Teacher: Pak Pras Description: Students will learn techniques of caricature drawing. This unit is best suited for students who did not complete Pak Pras’s previous unit Location/Room: MS Classroom Max Students: 15

Tricky Pics Teacher: Ibu Jen Description: Welcome to the exciting world of digital collage!! Learn how to edit amazing photos in Photoshop to create surreal works. To take this class it is expected that you have access to a camera/ phone to take photos and have Photoshop pre-installed on your computer. Location/Room: Art Studio Max Students: 10

Handicrafts – Carving and Candle-making Teacher: Pak Baptiste Description: During this Art class we are going to explore different techniques of carving and incrustation using  Dremel. One of our goals will be to design a candle. Students will be allowed to design their own carving project. Students may want to make some jewelry. This is a unit that will provide students with the opportunity to develop their focus and precision-skills. Location/Room: Maker-Space Max Students: 10

The Art of Trees Teacher: Pak Aga Description: Students will integrate science and art in this innovative unit on Trees. Pak Aga is a new member of the Green Studies team with a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience on forestry topics. Students will be able to acquire new knowledge on a variety of local plant species, and then communicate this information in creative ways. Students will be able to create an Art Project to demonstrate their learning in this unit. Location/Room: MS Classrooms Max Students: 12

Beginner and Intermediate Keyboards Teacher: Pak Duncan Brief Description: Students will learn to play (or develop their skills with) piano. Location/Room: Yurt Max Students: 10
