As the semester comes to a close, I write with pride about the growth we have experienced this semester. Both the emotional growth we have seen the children express and the literal growth we have experienced through our thematics and green studies projects this semester. Grade 1 has harvested their first cucumbers and are ready to share. Grade 5 had a profound experience yesterday spending time with local farmers and foresters and sharing in the flavors of freshly harvested mushrooms and more. And that is just a small taste of the amazing greenery we have surrounded ourselves with. The “Green” in Green School has always been a representative of the living, growing and healthy things we aim to support in this community, from our plants to our children to ourselves.
Our shared goal in 2017 will be to have everyone in the Green School community GROW ONE THING FROM A SEED AND EAT IT! From ground to table; earth to body; and taste to joy. Wishing you all this and many other joyful experiences this holiday season. Keep a look out for more stories over the break in our quarterly Bamboo News.

This Week in Review
An incredible last week of school – Grade 1 went on a Trash Walk with Pak John Hardy, Full Moon Ceremony with Primary School, Rice Cycle Experience with our Kul Kul Connection, Earthbound travelling semester came back to Green School, and so much more!
We look forward to another wonderful year at Green School in 2017 with lots more green experiences and learning moments.
We welcomed the Earthbound travelling semester group back to Green School this week and were treated to a moving session through song, drama and stories with students sharing their learning experiences and stories of the people that they had met along their four-month journey.
The community was also happy to welcome Green School treasures, Ibu Sarita, Pak John and Ibu Jackie back to campus. To hear more Earthbound stories through the eyes of the students, please visit their blog at www.earthbound.live.
