Early Years Indonesian Assembly

Dear Parents,

The Early Years Indonesian Assembly was absolutely the highlight of our week. We are incredibly proud of our brave and creative students who performed with such confidence and poise in front of a full audience. The Starlings practised for over a month and dedicated many hours to prepare for the show. We are very grateful for all of the wonderful Indonesian teachers and assistants who made this memorable event possible. It still makes me smile days later when I think about it. The performances from our dear friends in the Pre-K Geckos and Kindergarten were also amazing. We enjoyed having our rehearsals together on Monday and Tuesday morning. Many thanks to Pak Widi for capturing these amazing images. We hope you enjoy them.

This week, we began our final thematic lesson entitled, “Planet Earth and Beyond”. We practised a new song which helps us learn how to count backwards called, “Five Little Men in a Flying Saucer”. Ibu Komang prepared several amazing art projects for our afternoon activities, including rocket ships and alien headbands.

We started a countdown and we can’t believe that there are only 13 days left of school! Next Tuesday, May 30, Pak Ron Lilley will visit Early Years. He visits us each year to teach us about snake safety and also offers the opportunity for the students to have a turn to touch and hold the snakes.

School will be closed next Thursday, June 1 in observance of a national holiday. On Friday, June 2, the Starlings will perform with Pak Brett in the afternoon assembly in the Sangkep. The Early Years Potluck Breakfast Party is on Tuesday, June 6 from 8:15 – 9:30 am. Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Best wishes,

The Starlings Team
