Fifth Week of Term 2

Dear Parents,

Greetings. One of the highlights of the week was the Early Years Indonesian Assembly. We loved sharing our story, “Go to Sleep Gecko” with all of the families and students. We hope you enjoyed our performance with Pre-K Geckos, Kindy A and Kindy B! Many thanks to Pak Widi, our school photographer, for capturing these amazing moments.

Another amazing event that the brought the entire Early Years Learning Neighbourhood together occurred on Monday morning. Two Mystery Guests came from Spain and their project is known as “Naranjarte”. They are educators from Spain who are traveling around the world, performing to students and researching education, specifically in regards to Literacy and puppets. It was a captivating show filled with fantastic puppets and circus skills. We were lucky to have Pak Widi present to take more photos for us to share with you.

This week, we met a baby cow on campus who was just born a few days ago! Some students found some snakeskin on our playground as well. We find so many treasures from Mother Earth each day.

In Cooking Class, we celebrated by making peanut butter cookies. The children mixed peanut butter, gluten-free flour, palm sugar and vanilla together to create the dough.

The Starlings enjoyed practising yoga on the field next to the Yoga Studio.

The students had a great time with Pak Brett, filling up buckets with soil and compost.

Next week, we will begin a new thematic unit entitled, “All Around the World”. Bamboopalooza was so inspiring and we want to continue to celebrate the diversity of our students. We will be asking for some support from the parents to help us learn about the culture of your countries. The Starlings are also looking forward to our field trip on Friday, November 24 to Bali Fun World. Please pack a full water bottle, a snack, lunch and a spare set of clothes. School will be closed on Friday, December 1, in observance of a national holiday. Thank you for your support and have a wonderful weekend.

Best wishes, Ibu Russlee, Ibu Krisna and Ibu Komang
