Final Weeks

Dear MS Parents -

There is a lot going on in the world right now as we come to this final part of our distance learning term. We are addressing the conversations about what is happening in America in our assembly this week and in social emotional classes. Please open up dialogue with your child at home as well, as this might be the place they feel safest to ask questions. We are extending our love and support for those in America and around the world - as this is a global issue.

As we head into the final weeks of term, there are a few pieces you need to know:

1. Quests will be released as a live stream YouTube over 4 days next week (from Tuesday 9th - Friday 12th). We will be sending a schedule of these as soon as we can. We couldn't be more proud of our 8th graders at this moment - the dedication and positivity they brought to this different way of doing Quest was admirable and inspiring. We can't wait to celebrate these with you next week.

2. MS is not doing parent conferences. We have hosted 2 conference sessions this year, as we do every year, so there will not be one for Term 4.

3. Reports will look different this block. Students in MS have taken a variety of different paths during this time due to a variety of circumstances. To this end, we would like these reports to act as a time capsule reflection of this unique period in history. Your child will be reflecting on the subjects which they did engage with only. It is not possible to 'assess' the students as we would normally, so reports will act as a capturing of this unprecedented experience. There will be more information coming on this soon. Your children should be writing their reflections - please give them a gentle nudge if they say they have 'nothing to do'.

4. We are working on a Transitions Assembly for our MS students so that we can all say a 'good' goodbye. Pak Quim is working on gathering information as to who is leaving and staying, which is not easy in the current climate, so our assembly will include everyone so that everyone has a chance to have some closure in the case that they do end up leaving. If you need to share any further information on this, please email Pak Quim and/or myself.

I will be in contact with further details about the above information, but just wanted to update you on what is happening in these final days.

With love and gratitude,

Ibu Nicola
