Geckos – Week 3 of Term 4

Dear Parents and Friends,

Happy Earth Day! Everyday is Earth Day here at Green School and today we have Earth Day Assembly. The Geckos also took part in this celebration which we started last week by upcycling our ogoh-ogoh, Ramon, into paper wind chimes.

Today we made an experiment by upcycling our used crayons in to necklaces. Look at how the small pieces of used crayons transform in to beautiful necklaces.

Another exciting activity we’ve been doing this week is building a new garden. We transferred the plants from the nursery pots in to our new garden with excitement.

Continuouing our thematic unit “Butterfly Garden”, this week we are talking about “Insects”. The animals are called insects if they have: – six legs – three body parts – two anthenaes We had a lot of ants visiting us outside and inside of our classroom. So, we created our own ant made from recycled material.

We had 5th graders came to visit and play with us this morning. During library time, there were two high school students came and read us books.

During Budaya Indonesia Class, Ibu Krisna taught us how to create “Lutung” or monkey.

Enjoy your three days weekend everyone. We hope you’ll have a great one.

Looking forward to seeing you all next Tuesday.

With lots of loves, Ibu Kadek, Ibu Pipit, Ibu Dewi
