Dear Parents and Friends,
What a fantastic time we had this week! Our exploration to the theme “Butterfly Garden” continued by making some art and craft related to the life cycle of butterfly. We also practiced movements and sang songs related to the theme. We learned songs about other insects as well.
The children made butterfly egg, by wrapping a small rock with cotton.
Then, when the egg pops, the caterpillar comes out of it.
The caterpillar turns itself into a cocoon. It stays inside the cocoon for more than two weeks until it changes into a butterfly.
Let’s wait and see!
We explored the campus area to find butterfly eggs, caterpillar, cocoon, and butterfly. We haven’t found cocoon yet! We also visited the new Kembali building.
We continued to explore vegetables during Bahasa Indonesia Class with Ibu Par. We made vegetable stamps, corn (jagung) craft, and green peas (kacang polong) craft.
During Cooking Class, we made vegetable soup along with learning the names of the vegetables in Bahasa Indonesia.
As usual, the children also spent their time in a fun way at the specialist classes.
During Bamba Jam class, they made their own tunes to create music by colouring on the paper using different colours.
Ibu Russlee challenged us to do yoga poses on a block at Yoga Class. It was super tricky, but the children did it very well. Good job!
We played the special music instrument at Music Class. Pak Brett also took us for a walk to see flowers during Green Studies Class. He also read us two stories about flowers and chimpanzee.
Obstacles games in P.E Class
We enjoyed choosing books and reading books at the library.
We were making cakes and celebrating a birthday party of nobody. It was so amusing.
Sustainable Solutions, Green School annual eco-festival is coming back next week (16th – 20th April). It is a great event and opportunity to meet and connect with solution makers. The Farmers Market will be back on Friday, April 20th.
Have a great weekend everyone. See you on Monday!
