Dear Parents and Friends,
We had so much fun during Halloween celebration on Trick or Treat Party last week. It has always been one of our favorite traditions in the Early Years Learning Neighborhood. We had a lot of support and parent volunteers who worked together preparing the stations, bringing treats, games, and many others for the children. We are so grateful to all families to make the day became such an incredible day.
During thematic lesson last week, a fairy tale entitled “Gingerbread Man” was explored through art project. We created and decorated gingerbread man made from recycled paper.
We went to visit baby bunnies during Nature Walk. The bad news was the babies were not there anymore :(. But the good news was somebody has taken a responsibility to take care of the babies until they are ready to be back with their family 🙂
Last week, we had only three days of school. The Hindu people in Bali celebrated Galungan resulting in school being closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
This week, we had a new fairy tale entitled “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. We had puppet show as well as created bear puppet. Through the story, we learned opposites (big-small, high-low, soft-rough, hot-cold)
The children also learned sorting objects based on its color and size; big, medium, and small.
During Cooking Class, we made Bubur Kacang Hijau (Mung Bean Porridge) with palm sugar, coconut milk, ginger, and lemon grass. The children loved eating it so much.
Today, we collected leaves around campus during Nature Walk, then we painted them to make the stage decoration for our coming Indonesian Assembly next Wednesday, November 15th, at 9 am. The children have been practising for weeks preparing the show. We are looking forward to performing for all of you on Wednesday. We also painted our costumes for the show.
We also celebrated Liya’s birthday on Tuesday. Happy birthday Liya…..
During Yoga Class, Ibu Russlee taught us more poses by exploring the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears”
Pak Brett took us for a walk searching for some plants and flowers that can be eaten.
We had a “mystery guest” coming to our class, a cute caterpillar. We were wondering where it came from…
We learned a song about waking up in the morning in Bahasa Indonesia “Bangun Pagi” during Bahasa Class with Ibu Par.
Tomorrow, the Balinese Hindu people will celebrate another big day called “Kuningan”. It is the continuation of Galungan Festival, where the Balinese people pray and bring offerings to temples.
Once again, we are looking forward to seeing all of you at the Indonesian Assembly next Wednesday.
Have a wonderful weekend and see you on Monday.
