Geckos ~ Week 5 Term 2

Dear Parents and Friends,

There were a lot of exciting things going on this week. We just had a very special and wonderful event this week, which was the Indonesian Early Years Assembly. The Pre-K Geckos and Pre-K Starlings performed a Balinese folktale “Go to Sleep Gecko” (Tidurlah Tokek). The students had been practising for weeks to prepare the show as well as the costumes. We had two rehearsals together with Kindy A (Anjing Kintamani) and Kindy B (Buaya). Well done children!

The show was also the part of our thematic lesson this week. We also explored it by creating elephant puppet and decorated gecko puppet.

In Cooking Class, we made Ginger Cookies. The children loved making the shapes and eating the cookies, of course.

On Monday, we had special performance for Early Years in Kindy Buaya class room. They are from Spain and call themselves Naranjarte, who performed Circus Show for the children.

We are finally able to reschedule our field trip after the volcano activity went down to level 3. We will go to Peek-A-Boo on Thursday, Nov 23rd. We will take the Bio Bus and leave around 9 am so please arrive at school promptly at that day. Please pack SNACK, LUNCH, WATER BOTTLE, and A SET OF EXTRA CLOTHES. Please also send back the permission slip by typing your child’s name on the slip.

Here are some more pictures of the week:

In Yoga Class, we watched Cosmic Yoga for children and we tried to follow each poses

During Nature Walk, we walked down to the bridge. On the way we were so excited to see a new baby cow and its Mum, as well as two piglets. We also saw a big gecko crawling on the bamboo pole at the bridge.

Thank you for this amazing week. We are looking forward to have more fun weeks.

We wish you have a great weekend. See you back on Monday.

Warmest regards,

Ibu Kadek, Ibu Par, Ibu Pitri
