Geckos ~ Week 6 Term 3

Dear Parents and Friends,

What a special week we had this week! This week is full of fun and joy through celebrations for Love Day (February 14th) and Chinese New Year (this year it falls on February 16th). The children created decorations and card for those special festivities.

These cards and flowers were made by the children with love for their loved ones. All the process of making the card started last week and they made it enthusiastically for Love Day present.

For Love day decorations, the children created a love tree.

We also had special Cooking Class on Wednesday to celebrate Love Day and we made love heart-shaped brownie with strawberry butter frosting and fresh strawberry on top. We were super contented and excited making it and it was super delicious!

Another highlight for Love Day was the dance on the field, followed by assembly at Sangkep. The whole Green School community was invited to join the dance.

In order to honor Chinese New Year celebration, the children created shinny paper lantern, as well as watched a movie about Chinese New Year and Chinese Zodiac. According to Chinese calendar, this year is the year of dog. The children made dog hand puppet using paper.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to all parents and families for your present and contribution during our Early Years Potluck Breakfast this morning. So much stories to share and of course plenty of foods to enjoy.

At Music Class, Pak Brett brought his friend, Pak Romin to visit us at the Starling Class as a mystery guest. The children confidently introduced themselves one by one. He played djembe while the children sang songs.

Pak Brett also took us for a walk during Green Studies Class to look for some bugs around.

Ibu Trudy, known as the mosquito lady, came to visit us a the mystery guest for all Early Years at Kindy A classroom. She showed us a video about the life cycle of mosquito and how to help controlling mosquito population by keeping our environment clean and make sure to check any water-holding containers, turn over coconut shells, cans stored outside.

School closed on Friday for Chinese New Year holiday.

Have a lovely long weekend.

Looking forward to see you on Monday.

Best wishes,

Ibu Kadek, Ibu Par, Ibu Pitri
