Dear grade 5 families,
We have just finished a short but sweet final week. This week included such exciting events as the culminating reflection and celebration of Tanah Indah Games. Congratulations to theDemos tribe on their big win! During Indonesian Studies we practiced some traditional Galungan Ceremony activities such as making lawar, satay, crackers, and nasi (see pictures below). Additionally, we finished up and presented book reports and Budaya Bali projects which our students put such great work into and will later be showcased in our library here at school. Finally, we wrapped our week up by celebrating an original marimba performance by some of our very own grade 5’s! (see pictures below).
Next semester we will start off with our very first (but not last) student open-inquiry project and collaboration with the iHub. We will be challenging students to develop their own driving question, that will then lead to planning, developing, and then building their own original project (stay tuned for details!).
Have a wonderful and relaxing break with your friends and family, and we will see everyone back here in the new year!
