Green School House League – Introduction

Purpose:

  1. Encourage inter-learning neighbourhood bonding.

  2. iRespect Modeling

  3. Provide additional sporting opportunities and competition for keen students.

  4. Leadership and mentoring opportunities for more senior students.

  5. Community team building.

Membership

  1. Houses and uniform colors

  2. Earth (Maroon)

  3. Fire (Orange)

  4. Air (Yellow)

  5. Water (Blue).

  6. All students, community members, teachers and staff are invited and divided into house teams.

Officials

Commissioner and Scorekeeper: Ibu Audrey Mann

Primary/Junior Liaison: Pak Bambang Prayitno

MS/HS Liaison: Pak Jade McGraw

Rules

  1. All participants must be in house colors

  2. Shoes are mandatory

  3. Hats for field sports

  4. Scores are tabulated on Fridays and announced at assemblies.

  5. Homeroom teachers are encouraged to select weekly captains to remind students about upcoming games and rally the troops to attend events.

Read and repeat the following:

  1. Everybody has the right to play.

  2. This is a game.

  3. Cheer for every player.

  4. Referees are human.

  5. “Your success or lack of success in sports does not indicate what kind of athlete you are. But being coachable, a great teammate, mentally tough, resilient and trying your best IS a direct reflection of your person.” –

Scoring

  1. Points for participation – 1 pt / member

  2. Calculated by the number of members in attendance at the event in colours.

  3. Check in with the commissioner prior to the game start

  4. Points for wins/ties

  5. 10 pts for a win

  6. 5 pts for a tie

  7. Points for season end awards – 1 of each award per division

  8. iRESPECT  (Sportsmanship) – 50pts

  9. Voted by the players each week

  10. MVP of the league – 50 pts

  11. Voted by the teachers during the final

*The purpose of the “Finals” sport assembly is to showcase our community talent in a festival style atmosphere. Students are encouraged to spectate, sell wares, raise awareness of their causes, and cheer!

* No HS or Open 3rd place game (it’s always a blood bath)

  2. Newcombe ball modification – 3 passes/catches before throwing it over the net

  5. Lines marked by cones – service line is 4m from net

  6. Service is from anywhere on the court

  7. 2 sets, 10 mins each, then teams swap sides

  8. Max. time for game is 20 minutes

  9. Substitution – whole team rotates clockwise whenever a point is scored (for or against)

  10. 1pt / student participating in colors

  1. Grade 4-5

  2. 6 on 6

  3. ½ gym with nets slightly above badminton height

  4. Modified service line at 1.5m from normal service line

  5. Lines marked by cones

  6. Best of 3 sets, each set first to win 15 points, must win by 2 points

  7. Max. time for game is 20 minutes

  8. Substitution – whole team rotates clockwise whenever a point is scored (for or against)

  8. 4 drops/interceptions allowed before attack/defence switch

  9. 5 min quarters, full substitutions

  10. Max. time for game is 20 minutes

  11. 1pt / student participating in colours

  1. Grade 4-5

  2. 7 on 7
