Halloween Special in Grade 2A

Happy Halloween!

We had a terrifically terrifying day in school today!! We began our morning with Community Circle Time, showing off our costumes and explaining who we were (and a little bit of weekend news too!)

We even managed to play sport with our 2B neighbours in all our costumes.

Everything had a Halloween feel to it so in Literacy today, Ibu Emma read two Halloween books. The class enjoyed helping to create some sounds to set the scene and helped with the voices. The joy of story telling was alive in our class! We then created our own recipes and ingredients for a Witch’s brew. I love to see the variety of ideas we get during creative writing time. Some ingredients included: tarantulas, stinky socks, worm brains, fox tails and a teaspoon frog slime!

After break we had some Halloween games and began with a touch and feel game. Inside the baskets were a brain, two eyeballs and worms…

Then we moved into three rotating craft stations. Ibu Neni helped us make lolly stick spider webs, Ibu Risma helped us create pumpkin lanterns using orange and black paper and Ibu Emma helped us with carving watermelons into a cat, vampire bat and vampire owl! Have a look at our creations below!

Ibu Penelope led us in Halloween Drama after lunch and then we finished our day with a Halloween assembly.
