Outdoor education programs have the power to help students develop a variety of coping strategies in challenging situations and to further develop problem-solving skills which ultimately contribute to building resilience. This year high school students will have the opportunity to participate in different Outdoor Ed programs via the Jalan Jalan program and school camps.
In block 1 a group of high school students participated in Ibu Kiley’s Adventure Time: Mountain Edition Outdoor Ed class. Students had the opportunity to mountain bike and hike each week as well as learn useful bike repair skills. We had a special guest, GS parent Ted Guidotti, collect sticks and share his creative woodworking skills to help our class make hiking sticks in preparation for our overnight bike + camp + hike Mt.Batur at the sunrise culminating trip. Here are some photos from our camping trip & summit of Batur.
