Dear HS Parents and Students,
We know that there has been a lot for your family to process over the past few days. We hope that you have been making decisions that bring security, safety, and wellbeing to your family. As we transition to online distance learning it is important to communicate that we are feeling confident that the Green School way of teaching and learning will stay strong.
After days of training, trialing and co-planning, tomorrow we launch the online distance program. By now, teachers will have shared their ‘weekly summaries’ (Mar 18-20) with parents and students for each class. This is an outline of the expectations specific to each class for the week. Please have a look at these as a family and specifically, look out for the Jalan Jalan ‘summaries’ for tomorrow. If you do not receive a Jalan Jalan ‘summary’ please email Harriett ASAP, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Community is one of our greatest strengths at Green School and regardless of geographic location, we know these relationships will transcend this time of separation. As an example of this, we look forward to a live stream assembly this Friday hosted by the GSSA at 2:30pm. You will receive a link via email in the upcoming days. Furthermore and in the spirit of connectedness, Harriett and I created a little video on tips and advice for getting off on the right foot with distance learning (see below). Hope you enjoy the personal touch!
Lastly, over the break (Mar 23 – Apr 3) please regularly check your email as you can expect to be receiving updates about school closure status and the learning program.
Happy Distance Learning! — Kyle and HS School Team
