GS Green Generation would like to present our representative youth delegation that will be travelling to Bonn, Germany for the COP23 this November!
Accompanied by Pak Shawn and Pak Mo — Gede, Lucas, Shoya, Wells, Ruby, Daisy, Regan, Will, Prema, and Diah are High School students from Green School, Kul Kul Connection and the local community that will be representing youth voices at the United Nation’s annual climate conference COP23, and the conference of youth COY13 this November.
Green Generation, as a student activist group formed two years ago will be attending the COP for the third year in a row — this year’s focus being on bringing our message of youth empowerment and action, highlighting the urgency for global attention on Indonesia’s palm oil industry and devastating peatland fires. Our team will be bringing our individual passions for art, journalism and activism to the international stage by documenting our experiences on our blog platform, (medium.com/gs-green-generation) as well as vlogging and recording our journalist work with fellow activists, organisations, and corporations. Our biggest deliverables will be our comedic Green School original performance, and presentation that will inspire youth to take action on issues they care about.
As we begin to wrap-up our preparations, GS Green Generation would to send out a HUGE thank you to the GSPA and the GS community for fully funding scholars, Prema, Gede, and Kul Kul connection student Diah who will be able to attend the COP with us! We are all incredibly grateful for your generosity and support. Another shoutout goes to the GS community and Qatar airways for their generosity in Prema’s fundraiser and the sponsoring of his flights to Bonn! He is now able to join us on the trip as an incredible asset to ours, and the Kul Kul team.
For the next 6 weeks, our team will be sharing our experiences on our online platforms: green-generation.org, Medium, and our social medias ( facebook and instagram @gsgreengeneration) — be sure to follow our journey and stay up-to-date with our work whilst in Bonn! It’s going to be an incredible few weeks full of many new experiences and lessons, and we can’t wait to share it with the GS Community!
T Minus – 2 weeks till Bonn! Catch you later, Green School.
