Dear Green School Community,
We did it! Together we raised an outstanding $230,000 in the Earth Day Roadmap Challenge and with that, expect to be granted another $100,000 prize as the winner of the challenge. That is a total of $330,000 for the school. Hooray!
Thank you to everyone who donated, supported and shared the campaign with others. Plus a very special thank you to those beautiful community members who put themselves forward to be ‘Fundraisers’ for the campaign, activating their own networks to donate. Almost all these wonderful people are current community members (teachers, parents, staff and students) and collectively raised over $108,000! John and Cynthia Hardy also played a huge role in securing donations, as the Founders and on-going champions of Green School.
The extra bit of good news is that support is still continuing! We have more donations coming in which means that we can kit-out our Community Innovation Hub with even more equipment and offer even more great learning opportunities. The teachers are already planning some great programs and we cannot wait to see the pegs in the ground and to get this project underway.

Take Your Place In This World – Take Flight
Kevin Locke from Standing Rock Sioux Reservation storytelling and performing the Lakota Hoop Dance, symbolic of the Never-ending Circle of Life
It was with great pride that we hosted tribes from all around the world in a performance of dance and storytelling and a celebration of Indigenous Cultures here at Green School. We welcomed the Lakota Tribe from my home state of South Dakota, the Dayak Tribe from Kalimantan Indonesia and the great musician and activist Dadang from our wonderful home here in Bali. It was one of the most special days we’ve had here at school.

Building a Communication Bridge Between Parents and Adolescents
Living together in a family should be a fun and loving adventure, not a battle of wills. This workshop for Green School parents will explore the unique workings of the adolescent brain in action. This will lay a foundation for seeing the world through the eyes of your adolescent child(ren) and then practicing some strategies to build a foundation for mutually harmonious and respectful communication and interaction. When each member of the family takes ownership of how and what they contribute, in both positive and disrupting ways, everyone wins.Date: Wednesday, May 24th 2017 Time: 8.30-10.30 Place: Upstair Warung
