Pre-K Starlings – Term 2 Week 1

Dear parents and friends,

Welcome to term 2! We were so excited to have our Starlings back.

The start-up of our new term was an Art and Fine Motor Skills activity using popsicle  sticks.

Children colored several of them using oil pastels and glued them together in a shape of a heart. The big love heart was hung in a new special place in our classroom called “The Love Corner”. Students also placed beautiful marigold flowers there as a way to celebrate the love in our group.

Please feel free to make an offering to our Love Corner whenever you feel like. Anything is welcome: An element from nature, cards, pictures or anything you think represents love to you and your family.

Another new sharing display in our classroom is called the “Kindness Board”; Children have been encouraged to share something kind that happened to them during the day at school. for instance, last week a student said: ” My friend pushed me on the swings and that was really kind”.

Don´t forget to check our daily updates on the board. The more we appreciate the kindness expressed by our students the more they will feel encouraged to spread the love!

This week was so lovely. We could feel much love spreading everywhere…

We played together, we enjoyed some red and yellow smoothie made during our cooking class, and we also had a lot of fun at our specialist classes.

We are so excited to welcome the upcoming week as there will be a Full-moon ceremony on Tuesday. Please pack Balinese ceremonial clothing if your child has them. If not, we can use fabric and sarongs from our classroom. We are also planning to play in the mud pit  with Pak Brett during Green Studies class. Please pack a swim suit or a spare set of underwear.

And… Last but not least, there will be Halloween party on Friday! Yay! Children can wear any costume they want.

See you and have a wonderful weekend!

Much love,

Bu Jessyca, Bu JanJan and Bu Komang
