Term 4 Week 3

The best things in your life aren’t things……….  They are your friends..”

Dear parents and friends,

Our  thematic “Be The Change”, is becoming more interesting, as the students are getting close to nature and environment. This week the Geckos were also involved and took part in our Sustainable Solutions event which also supports our Thematic.  We created some crafts, painted rocks, and worked together to display the craft and art work. The Geckos also joined in the Sustainable Solution blessing ceremony (know as Prayasita in Balinese word). We hope that by doing this ‘cleansing ceremony’ the event goes smoothly. Ibu Dessy (our intern from Kalimantan), family members arrived at Green School as our mystery guests!   They are also guest speakers at Sustainable Solutions.

Thank you Grade 1 Merah….

Our Teman-teman is so much fun with the Grade 1 children reading to us and lovely relationships are forming amongst the children.   The Geckos so happy to have Grade 1 Merah as our Teman-teman, and the Geckos love hearing the stories.

This week the Geckos were made “Fruits Pancake” (Pancake Buah). The students were eager to help at each stage of the preparation.  They needed to slice the grapes (anggur), pears (pir), and also help with mixing the ingredients together.Yummy!

During Green Studies class Pak Brett took the Geckos on a short adventure around the school. The geckos helped to take care of the rabbits, and also the garden.  Pak Brett also prepared a game “Find the leaves” the students had to find the same leaves as matched the teachers. Looking for cassava, lemon grass, ginseng and guava is not always easy.

Happy Birthday to You Happy Birthday to You Happy Birthday Dear (Layla) Happy Birthday to You.

The geckos sang “Happy Birthday” to our lovely friend “Layla” who was celebrated her birthday during the weekend. We wish you have a very happy birthday Layla.

P.W Class this week was fun. Pak Garrett and Pak Putu set up some stations for the geckos. The stations were tricky but fun! bouncing balls with partner, hitting the balls with the racket, throwing, and balancing.
