We’ve had another successful week here in grade 5a! We began the week with an introduction to coordinate planes in maths by challenging students to an adapted game of Battleship. We then proceeded to finish our gripping class novel The Breadwinner, which led to some excellent discussions about how our personal lives and experiences are connected to the main character’s. With the help of some awesome parent volunteers, our classroom garden is beginning to come together as well. Over the coming weeks students will be transforming our garden boxes into the terraced gardens that they have designed. Finally, we finished the week off by discussing group dynamics and leadership in Tanah Indah. Students discussed (very maturely) how well their group members were contributing to the group, and if there were any issues they were presented and learned how to use several different approaches to managing their groups.
This coming week please note the following:
Monday- Children’s Day Celebration. We will be partnering our students up with other children from the Kul Kul Connection to create and play fun games that build a sense of community and friendship.
** All week long we will be celebrating International Dance Week with fun activities during lunch time.
Wishing you a lovely weekend!
