Week 5 ~ Grade 5A

Dear parents,

Phew! We’re having a hot but fun week!

We’re starting the week with a Full Moon ceremony lead by Ibu Ayu Novita on Tuesday.

Numeracy ~ The students were playing Bingo game during Numeracy time to consolidate their understanding of Rounding Numbers.

Thematics ~ We are also starting to create our hands-on project during thematics lesson to represent something that is culturally important to us. We see the ogoh-ogoh, red nose, stadium and Australian flag taking their forms.

Bahasa Indonesia~ The students within theirs small group were focusing on reading and reading comprehension during Bahasa Indonesia lessons. They are still working on Identity as the big umbrella of the lesson. They also learnt a song entitled Ayo ke Sekolah.

Budaya Bali ~ For Budaya Bali, the students learnt about Eid al-Adha also called the “Sacrifice Feast”, the second of two Muslim holidays as well as preparing a 5 minutes song and skit for Primary assembly next Tuesday.

Gardening ~ On Thursdays in morning community, we will work on our class garden. Our garden area is now confirmed with Pak Wayan Bono to help us redesigning, fixing and raising the beds.

Literacy ~ Ibu Penelope came and taught the class how to write a monolog and we also continued reading our class novel: Pax.

  1. Marimba: Please remind your child to bring ear plug on Thursday if they are too sensitive with a loud music.

  2. Communication: Pak Lance and Ibu Dee work together to plan, lead, run, and review the classes. Please send all correspondence regarding your child to BOTH of us.

  3. Primary assembly: Grade 5A will sing their Ayo ke Sekolah song on Tuesday, September 12, at 8:15. Please come and support them.

Thank you for being such avid supporters of our learning journey.
