Week 6: Grade 4 With Laklak Bali & World Bamboo Day!

Dear Grade 4 community,

What a fantastic week we have had in Grade 4! Every week, the students seem to progress so much. You should have seen their diving skills in the pool on Monday!

During Teman Teman time, we got chance to play with Grade 1, they had fun by playing actively and safely. Grade 4 students also very patiently helped their Grade 1 buddies down through the forest  to check out our jungle camp. They were very proud to show off their hard work!

On Wednesday we celebrated World Bamboo Day as a school with an awesome assembly of a bamboo musical. Includes fantastic dances with all of the primary community!

This week our students also ventured out to a sweet factory to experience how the traditional sweet, LakLak, is prepared and made. They learnt about the process and created their own tasty treats. Pak Yota even let us in on his generations old family recipe! We then brainstormed ideas of how the owner could change from using plastic containers to something more biodegradable.

On Friday we had an inspiring visit from a hero, Rick O’Barry, who has dedicated his life to correcting his wrongs and has been working to free captive dolphins all around the world. Check out his project in Bali: https://www.dolphinproject.com/

We wish you a restful and fun weekend and are looking forward to seeing every one of you at Parent Teacher Conferences next week!

No school on Friday, Sept 27 for the students!

Best wishes,

Grade 4 Team
