Welcome to 2A

Welcome to Grade 2A. Our team of teachers are excited to work with you and your child this year! Let us introduce ourselves. Ibu Emma is from the UK and has most recently been working in Malang, East Java for the past five years. She has worked in Kindergarten, 1st grade and 4th grade. Ibu Neni is from Bali and has been working in Green School for 6 years. She has been 2nd grade teacher for the past 4 years. Together we work with Ibu Risma who is also from Bali and has been working in Green School for 2 years.

Our first thematic we will be exploring is ‘Building Community’. It is a great first thematic as we will be looking at what it means to be a community working together and figuring out our role and how we feel in our newest community: Grade 2A.

A few notes to make:

-Please make sure your child brings a water bottle and a hat each day to ensure they stay hydrated and safe in the sun.

-Ibu Risma will keep our cashless cards safe in our classroom. If you need to add credit to them, just let us know. Please have a conversation with your child about what they can buy from the warung and how often. Please note that our daily menus are on the school blog.

-Our school day begins at 8:15. Students may come down to our classroom between 8-8:15am. 3:15pm is pick up time from the heart of school.

-For communication we use email. Ibu Emma: emma.kynaston@greenschool.org and Ibu Neni: neni.diarini@greenschool.org

Some important weekly dates to note are:

-Mondays and Thursday are Sports/PE days. Please have your child wear closed trainers/sports shoes.

-Thursday morning is Library so please work with your child to help them be responsible for returning books during our library period.

-Friday morning will be our Kembali collection day.  You can bring any recycling items you have collected over the week and your children will be responsible for sorting them into Kembali.

Thanks for your partnership in these things!

And finally… our first class photo. We enjoyed our first day together, getting to know each other and taking some time to explore our campus. And some photos from our new classroom.
