Greeting. Thanks for joining us for the first week of school. It was a lovely opportunity to meet new friends and to explore our beautiful campus. We even found a baby bronzeback snake around our classroom and our Security Guard friends released the snake back into the jungle! Some children loved letting a praying mantis climb on their arms and we had a lot of butterflies visit out classroom.
The students had a chance to visit the rabbits and also fed them some leafy greens while petting them. The Starlings enjoyed finding the “Magic Crystal” and sharing what they could see inside.
Pak Brett, our Music and Green Studies teacher, came to meet the students and played some songs on his guitar with us. It was also great to meet Ibu Ayu, our school Librarian, and select lots of books for our class library. We also met our P.E. Specialist teachers, Pak Garrett and Pak Putu, in the Gym.
Just a reminder that school will be closed on Friday, August 17 in observance of a national holiday for Indonesia’s Independence Day. We are looking forward to playing some traditional Indonesian games on Thursday with our neighbors in Early Years. The Starlings will also begin the first thematic lesson of the year entitled, “My Body and My Five Senses”. We hope you had a wonderful weekend and we will see you at school soon. We will post more photos next week. Thank you!
