Welcome to Term 2, Week 10 of Grade 2B!

Dear Parents,

It’s been another week full of fun and learning in Grade 2B! The students were happy to see a few friends return after being away and there were many smiles and hugs Monday morning as new and old friends reunited! The class continues to work hard and see good progress in our proficiency theme of literacy, numeracy and Bahasa Indonesian. Thanks to Ibu Nita for the great Bahasa and Indonesian Culture lessons. She is also working with students during Math time and working on phonics, writing and spelling during our Reading Groups. Ibu Nita is currently teaching the children a song in Bahasa Indonesian that they will perform at next Friday’s assembly on October 27th. We hope you can make it!

Above are a few photos from our boat floating fun that we did before the break. We conducted a few more experiments this week and the students also had an experiment during Science class this week.  Students also made a book of their own ideas for inventions and learned about some new inventions such as the solar car.

Students enjoyed using a program this week during reading groups and many students asked me to tell you all about it. The program is at Starfall.com and is free on a laptop. For an ipad, it comes as a paid ap. There are many great stories, games and other activities for young readers. Also, abcya.com is another great one that we used during Math time.

This week we also had a visit from some Middle School students who helped us with some math work and games! See the photo attached!

We love our garden.

Science is cool!

Math time in the Computer Lab!
